the Dragon Age meetup was absolutely the highlight of my DragonCon this year

The farther I get into Dragon Age Veilguard. The more I realize just how unfairly attacked and politicized people went ham on this. Games polished as hell. Tons of content. Great soundtrack. the VAs, though - they've only been able to talk about it for a few weeks, but the window has kind of passed, sadly... I still hope they get to talk about it some time!
they sure haven't, though it used to be a bit better - the DA community does seem to be pretty toxic in many ways, devs were bullied off the OG bioware forums, then twitter, then here... after how they were treated by EA *and* fans it's no wonder they aren't lining up to engage.
their hands were tied as the VAs were on strike from July '24, but they could have planned things out before that for sure... and it wasn't like they were much better for the prev. games (though a little bit), but then again they could have done plenty of *other* marketing and didn't do that either
(i don't think it's entirely 'that's just reddit' because i've been in some others that are less determined to hate everything about their topic all the time)
ended up briefly on the DA subreddit because i was looking for a reference (where to find an item) and my goodness what a miserable, rancid place. negative post after negative post with very little else in-between. they're welcome to it honestly

I hadn't considered that (not sure if I like it *only* because I don't know how well it scans for my rook), but I have thought about him receiving his first piece of mail addressed to 'professor and mrs volkarin' and having a Moment (or mr, or mx, as fits!)
he's going to play it! he hasn't yet - he started inquisition for a bit last year pre-DAV. he's playing the alters at the moment as that came out recently

it was definitely there! i remember because i was heartbroken i didn't get it in the base game after picking destroy (the weekend it came out), but then i played the galaxy at war app for a few days to get 100% readiness, played through it again and got it 😅
oh yeah, for sure! You'd hope that nearly a year on they'd have found something new to complain about, but no. 😒
It was in the original version, although a bug(?) on release meant that it was impossible to get it without playing multiplayer to raise your war assets. The extended cut lowered the threshold to be achievable in single-player only
like i know bg3 is orders of magnitude more successful/popular than ANY of the DA games, so i get it but also like. sigh. where is the DA cast playing D&D panel. where are the podcasts. the YT vid interviews. (also the strikes didn't help, of course, but even years ago there wasn't much)
i don't *begrudge* it or anything obv but i look at all the cool things that the BG3 cast have gotten to do (and are still doing) and i wish the DAV cast (or any of the DA casts, really) had gotten to do things like that

yeah, this exactly. i can't think of a way they'd do it and not ruin their story. they might surprise me I guess... but also a huge part of shepard's story is their companions, so if they aren't there either (except liara) i don't think i'd want to see that
my cables will not be "managed" I love all cables equally. each is empowered to roam freely in pursuit of self-directed goals, articulating a personality of its own. that's not a tangle, it's a statement. cable management is a tool of the oppressor.

hasn't been the case. it's been so so interesting to see the differences in dialogue and approaches to various things; some of it i like very much but other times i prefer the non-MW version of the dialogue. it's neat to have so many options for RPing though!
