When my mother was born they didn’t have indoor plumbing or electricity. Got electricity in 1942. A farm in Oregon. Thanks rural electrification. (My Dad was born in Brooklyn - they had an icebox but in the winter they didn’t get ice delivered, they had a box that fit in the window)

Mourning a dog. He was a 14 y.o. Still too soon. Not unexpected but my subconscious still expects him to be there. I look up from reading where his bed was - he’s not there. I come down in the morning (he couldn’t climb the stairs the last few years) and he’s not there.

Sounds like the time I fractured a rib. Tripped on my floor length mumu nightgown while in the bathroom in the middle of the and hit the immobile “vanity”. Was never able to comfortably wear those again. Early on in pandemic i shortened them and used the fabric to make masks.
