Perched herons are fun. If you are still around second heron is by the other small pond (up from the bridge)
nice. if you are around, also check perched in trees on the west side of pond or close to the pump house for a second one. the two herons this morning were not going to share.

just had a look at e-bird, for the Gardens there is Great Blue Heron reports 2015, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, 25....
speaking to the old time gang, they generally get one or two every summer.
this one has been around for two-three weeks. My experience has been better in mornings, but afternoon visits happen- also check roosting in trees on west side of pond. in my 4 years generally visits are late summer.

Why was this 2 lane road closed? We were on a highway detour not much wider than this during the burn ban. @nsgov.bsky.social didn't even have the courtesy to provide dust control near the few homes on the road.

yeah. someone on my street parked illegally blocking a pedestrian crossing. Got a ticket on the Saturday morning, by the Tuesday they hadn't moved (long week-end). so they ended up getting cheap convenient parking ($25 i think), while people with mobility devices were screwed the whole time.
how much does the $200 cover of the cost of the infrastructure required to have this registration system? I assume OP doesn't think the people who issue his licence deserve to be paid, nor the IT, nor the mail person, etc. his proposed $10 registration for bike would bring negative revenue.
For context, I work at a gas station with a car wash and we have not heard one word about shutting it down. It uses a lot of water. It's funny how no business have to make the sacrifices.

this is the level of Government that approved a $50,000 grant to a sportwashing event featuring the Genocidal Israel. This is totally the right venue to ask two of the votes in favour to justify their support for genocide.
