try to be objective and wonder how I would’ve acted in a similar situation. I hear a LOT from my peers though how ‘the boomers don’t get it’ when it comes to hosing/retirement and what it’s like to live financially now. Been hearing it more and more. Mainly talking about their parents.

I see this daily with my boomer parents. My husband and I are gen-x and very non-materialistic and give back and volunteer with mutual aid groups. My parents spend all their money on more than one home and traveling and buying whatever they want. Not a thought about ‘do I really need this’?

I’m an avid mtn biker and the signs where I live tell you to ‘pick up your kids (for their safety), or your bike (to make yourself bigger) etc without bending down’. I’m 125 lbs but pretty strong and still trying to figure out how to pick up a child or a bike without bending at all. 🤔

It’s a relief to know this is part of the curriculum, although I know it’s a unicorn, and we need this discussion to be universal. The whole school celebrates black history month and discusses pivotal figures and their roles in civil rights etc. again, starting in kinder and first.
