I think MAGA is mentally ill, but the Republicans who hate Trump are uninformed. They only watch Fox, and they don’t follow Trump on Truth Social, so they don’t really have any idea what’s going on in our nation or world.
Right? I was shocked the first time I heard that from one of them but have since realized many think Vance is the change we need. The issue, as usual, is the media. They’ve never heard the things we’ve heard about Vance and still don’t think Project 2025 is even real. 🤬

I think that’s true for MAGA Republicans, for sure. All Republicans are complicit, obviously, but the ones I know actually do hate Trump, and I think they’re the ones that will continue to vote. Unfortunately, they only get info from Fox, so they also think Vance is a “decent guy.” It’s exhausting 🙄

I’ve never been able to get any engagement going over there. I hear people say the opposite is true for them, so maybe it’s just me

I agree and have also lost many friendships and connections over the past decade while watching Trump and his psycho circus move the Republican Party to the extreme right. My circle is quite small these days. I’m former GOP so still run into a lot of them, both personally and professionally.

This. I still know a lot of Republicans and none of them have any idea about Trump’s TS posts. They don’t follow him, and they only get their news from right wing media. They’re completely uninformed about what’s actually happening in our nation and the world and think I’m a victim of liberal media.

I’m glad someone played well today, because the Ohio/UT game was pretty boring (and I’m a Longhorn).
No doubt he’s already made a lot of money. He was in several of the commercials during the game, which was kind of bizarre, imo. He’s also donated a lot of money as well. Despite the fame that comes along with his name, I’m holding out hope he’s a nice kid (and a better player than he was today).
I would guess it’s true throughout the SEC that a large number of fans didn’t attend college. A friend from Mississippi told me that from birth they’re either Ole Miss or Mississippi state fans, especially because they don’t have a pro football team.

Gerrymandering is the biggest barrier we have in Texas politics. I live in central Houston (a blue city), but my gerrymandered district includes people who live almost a 2 hour drive away from me and in suburban and almost rural areas, so my district goes red every damn time. It’s beyond infuriating
Yes. I will say I’m not sure where they’re getting their numbers, since Texans don’t note their party affiliation when they register, but I do believe it’s correct to say we have more blue voters than red.

There’s a huge number of blue voters here who are effectively powerless due to extreme gerrymandering. Texas’ government is the most corrupt, racist, and misogynistic I’ve ever seen it. It’s infuriating.
While I still prefer Bluesky, Mark has a point. I’ve seen much more infighting here lately. Blue voters going after other blue voters is not our way out of the disaster that is the US right now. I’ve even had people attack me because “moderate” is in my user name. How dare I not be FAR left, right?
