Farke has been given 11 new players to work with to add to the core of the team he already had. None of the best players (except for Ramazani whom he didn’t want and Solomon who’s gone back to Spurs) have left, so he’s got 2 dozen decent players to work with, so it’s up to him now to get results.
Bielsa was both, he coached a bunch of mid-table journeymen to 9th place in the EPL. If Farke can’t coach the current team to mid-table then he’ll have let us down. Bielsa never made excuses.
I don’t think it’s a let down, the recruitment started well which raised expectations. The follow up has been disappointing so I’d give them a 6 out of 10. Everyone had indeed hoped for more. The problem is that elite players want European football and the club has to contend with PSR limitations.
Bringing in 10 players isn’t the bare minimum. I’m just hoping that our forwards start scoring and that Farke finds a player within the team who can play in the 10 role, the best option is obviously Tanaka but maybe Piroe could play there. It’s time now for Farke to show how good a coach he is.
Ii appears to me that I’m in a discussion with “glass half empty” types, whereas I’m an optimist. So I’ll just let you got on with berating the club management, cos whatever I write that’s positive you lot will just ignore or repudiate. I hope for all our sakes that the team does well this season.
One key thing I learned during my working life is that feedback needs to be constructive. If it’s all negative and all the emphasis is placed on what someone does badly, with no attention given to what they do well, then you’re likely to make problems worse, not better.
True, the transfer window didn’t finish like we’d hoped but we did sign some very good players and, crucially, we didn’t have to sell our biggest assets. Taken as a whole therefore they’d get a “should do better” on their report card from me, not a complete shellacking some fans are dishing out.
No it’s not, it ignores totally the effort that was put in to sign Paixao and Buenonotte (to name but 2 players the club was after) and states that they waited till the last minute to try and get Wilson. That’s complete bollocks.
My remarks weren’t aimed at you but at the fans who think that the club should be spending more than it’s allowed to and who tend to go into meltdown after every mishap and calling for either radical change, sackings, resignations or a combination of all four.
That’s because we got 2 of our attacking players on free transfers. Time will tell who did the best business but I wouldn’t want someone like Brian Brobbey stirring up trouble in my squad. I would also point out that the Longstaff deal is the coup of the transfer window in my opinion.
Fans going into meltdown happens at the close of every transfer window. I assume this is because they can’t claim the bragging rights with fans of other clubs who they like to troll and they now fear getting trolled themselves. This feeling of humiliation tends to generate negative reactions.

Some fans are really angry. I’m disappointed that we didn’t get anyone else in and I think we’ll have trouble scoring goals but, overall, I think the club has recruited some great reinforcements. The team looks more solid and capable. Time will tell how good they are but I’m remaining optimistic.
Indeed we were, yet they claimed the club lacked ambition. This time round we’re mid-table in a much tougher league and yet they still use the same arguments. We aren’t as wealthy as top clubs and we can’t offer players European football so the choice is limited, so why buy players we don’t need?
I think the fans going into meltdown are the same ones who predicted we would miss out on promotion at the close of the January window. They accused the club of a lack of ambition. They cited Sheffield United as the club with real ambition. Aren’t the Blades at the foot of the Championship now?

It’s too soon to judge after only 3 games. We get rolled over by the Gunners but were a match for Everton and Newcastle. I think this squad is superior to Bielsa’s promotion team (who finished in 9th place) and by and large the players who’ve joined us look fine, so let’s not panic just yet.
I think we’ll struggle too unless Nmecha and Calvert Lewin turn out to be the goal scorers they have the potential to be. Not so long ago people were ridiculing Chris Wood’s move to Forest, for example.
They not only have to catch up with us they have to overtake us. Sunderland are chucking money about but that doesn’t always guarantee success. Our team is more together as a group, there’s a great team spirit and that’s something people who judge everything on the price of stuff tend to forget.
Harrison may not have the striking power of Solomon who was on loan and is prone to injury, but Harrison has a wider selection of footballing skills, he can play almost anywhere in the team apart from goalkeeper or central defence. So you gain a bit and lose a bit but not much difference all round.
We came up with much better players in ours squad than Sunderland and Burnley had, which is why we were champions and why they’re spending loads of money trying to catch up with us.
I strongly disagree. We’re much stronger in defense and midfield and may also be stronger in attack if Nmecha and Calvert Lewin are fully match fit. We’ll know for sure around Cnristmas time.
Judging from his time back at Ajax I’d say he’s likely going to bring moodiness into the dressing room, so not a Farke type player by any means. He reminds me a bit of Winston Bogarde who never played at Chelsea but was on huge wages.
It’s quicker to drive up to Leeds from Sheffield or Birmingham rather than to fly in 😉
If the Black Cats are singing Brobbey then they’re getting themselves a big lump with a bad attitude. I wouldn’t have him at Leeds even if he came on a free.

Ramazani tended to lose his man and not track back. With him in the team we were more vulnerable to counter attacks. Farke gave him clear instructions about what he wanted him to do but he ignored this. That’s why he’s been sent out on loan. Harrison is a better all round footballer in my opinion.

We need radical policies. To address the housing shortage and the problems in health and welfare and concerns about the levels of immigration and environmental pollution the Netherlands need to move the economy away from low-skilled horticultural production to one based on high-skilled innovation.
We have a bigger squad with more quality in almost every position in the team and (fingers crossed) none of our key players have been poached by wealthier clubs. So we are definitely a stronger side compared to last season. Only time will tell, however, if we’re strong enough to stay up though.
It’s a last minute signing. Surely it’s better to have Hamer as an option in the squad ratherthan having to rely on our youngsters like we did under Bielsa?

He doesn’t need to. He just needs to utilize the attributes of the players recruited: big and physical “bastards” who can rough up the opposition and knock them out of their stride. That’s Dyche’s style of play. Farke likes to utilize a playmaker who pulls the strings, we haven’t recruited one.
No. His style of football doesn’t suit a side in a relegation battle. We would play in style and get relegated. If Farke fails we need a coach who can play a combative style of football which would better suit the squad we have. Someone like Sean Dyche. Horrible to watch but it’s that or the Champo.
It’s been fixed for years. The idea that a club can finish 5th in the league and qualify for the “Champions” League just goes to show that football is all about big money interests and not about true competition.

There are lots of dogs and many other animals roaming the streets of Delhi. I never saw anyone mistreating them, in fact local people showed them much kindness and tolerance. This bad behavior is very much out of character I suspect.

Ze ageren voor gebruik van de Ierse taal maar gebruiken een beladen Engelstalige term als naam. Blijkbaar vinden ze provoceren belangrijker dan taalzuiverheid. Volgens mij is hun primaire doel publiciteit generen, want winstgevend. In dat opzicht hebben ze veel gemeen met Donald Trump.
Het begrip “bezetting” vind ik hyperbolisch. De Goede Vrijdag Akkoorden zijn een positieve ontwikkeling. Er is momenteel vrede en verzoening tussen de gemeenschappen. De hereniging wordt eerder bemoeilijkt dan op weg geholpen door de nationalistische retoriek van types als de Kneecap trio.
Ze hebben het democratisch recht om campagne te voeren voor aansluiting bij de Republiek. Met hun provocerende, ongenuanceerde teksten zullen ze de twijfelaars echter niet over de streep trekken, vermoed ik.
Dat zeg ik niet, maar de onderdrukking van de Palestijnen gelijkstellen met de huidige situatie van de katholieken in Noord Ierland (en dat doet kneecap) is volkomen belachelijk. En voor je met een volgende verwijt aan mijn adres komt: ik ben tegen alle vormen van nationalisme.
