It’s basically stabbing the public in the back. Divert the funds allotted to acquire private lands and protect them for public use (instead of taxing the rich), then sell them to the highest bidder, because you can’t afford to protect the land (rather than tax the rich), making them private again.

I understand what you’re saying. Some people get to where they’re going on their own merit; no name recognition, just hard work. Others, like JFK, Jr., would be nowhere, IMO, without his father’s name and his uncle’s status as POTUS. Nepotism is often not be fair to those without the connections.

I wonder if the new Oroville Hospital will ever open. If the rule applies to Glenn County, why not to Butte County, or elsewhere? When does consolidation of services, to save money, create a situation that may cost people their lives in the event of an emergency?
It leaves Glenn County without an ER; a loss of 150 jobs. This brings to mind Oroville Hospital; staff is still working out of an old facility while a new facility sits empty. It’s only 25 miles to Chico’s Enloe Hospital, less than Glenn County’s medical center to any ER option.

I’m not sure about that, but I generally assume nothing, and try not to use absolutes because it’s hard to escape intact once stated. The only thing that is certain is death, though some are trying to prevent their demise. At least we are entitled to speak our minds; not everyone can do that.

What I don’t believe is that medications are the root cause. Yesterday’s shooting shows us someone who took deliberate actions…not an adverse drug reaction. The shooter recognized he did not have healthy thinking. Did he have FB friends who said nothing? How do we help people who suffer silently?

Yes, and In-n-Out does. I worked fast food years ago…a drive up in Santa Monica and a A&W somewhere else in the LA area. At the drive up there was me, the cook and the carhop….I worked the counter, tables and walk-up window. The place was busy on sport nights…ridiculous to just a handful of folks.

Inmates, in the other hand, sit on the bunk beds or in a yard. I don’t know where you live, but in California we see inmates picking up trash along the highway and others train in fire prevention work or are actual fire fighters. Taxpayers pay for their work, but generally, it’t not much.
National Guard men and women have regular jobs and live in their own homes, except for some weekends for training or their basic training. They are activated, generally, to protect their communities…natural disasters, threats or actual violence, etc.
Waste of taxpayer dollars right there. Imagine being taken away from your job and family for this detail! This is a job for misdemeanor inmates.

Didn’t know you could go to a store to buy them frozen! So I looked up where to buy…Walmart, Target, Safeway, etc. I don’t shop at any of these stores, but found it humorous that they were so easily obtained here. Never considered it; I’m out of the loop, lol.
