RIP Bhola. He passed away peacefully this morning. His body couldn't take it anymore. This one hit hard but his death won't be without meaning I promise him that. 💔
I spotted this dog in Delhi, India at the weekend out of the corner of my eye. He was being beaten. Luckily we got him to safety. His recovery has started

When I was in New York in May we got this girl out of a shelter just as she was about to be put to sleep within the next 24 hours. After months of medical care, fostering and weight loss she just got her happy ever after

So many people ask me where my own dog Hank came from. This huge boy was a rescue on the streets who was all out of options. His role now is to help the sick female patients as a therapy dog

Chance spent 10 years on the streets fighting for her survival before we found her with her stomach slashed 🔪. It wasn’t easy to catch her or fix her up but she has made immense progress in just 3 months. Many people will say dogs can’t smile but I’m not so sure.
He's one of the greatest dogs we have ever had. Panda was only hours from death and spent 10 days in ICU. He's like a whole new dog now!
Pedro has been with us for 8 months now. It took us most of that time to figure out he has autoimmune deficiency. Just a few days after bringing him in his 5 friends were poisoned. We still don't have a long term plan for him as we build him up but Pedro is safe now
Noodles is probably the smallest dog we have ever rescued. She was reversed over by a car. Seeing her walking again has made our week 🥰

When you consider where she’s come from and her health it’s been an incredible week for Jada. For the first time in forever I think she senses her future might just be a bright one 🥰🙏 (8/8)
I’ve even managed to start getting her on the lead. She’s very nervous of open spaces. She likes to cling to the fence or walls. (7/8)
But this week I found out that Jada has a soft spot for fried chicken. We’ve gotten to the stage where she will eat it from my hands. This took hours of work over the last week (6/8)
Wound cleaning is still very very hard for her physically and I think even more so mentally. Jada finds humans hard work (5/8)
Since the operation she has been staring at walls trying to make herself invisible. But we just started to see a huge change (4/8)
After a 3 week wait to build her up the operation was a success. (3/8)
Jada never had human touch. It absolutely traumatized her when we caught her. You can see she lost control of her 💩 and pee. She couldn’t even look at us a month ago (2/8)

We lost Maria. Her little heart just gave up in the end after a 2nd operation. It's very tough losing dogs but the only comfort I can take is they know love and have dignity when they come to us. RIP lovely little Maria

Little Pippilotta who was hit and left on the streets of Thailand but now lives in Ireland. We helped find her a home but my wonderful friend Sybille did all the hard work and 6 months of rehab. An insane recovery.

8 months ago we found Matilda on the side of the road after a hit and run with multiple broken bones. Today she left to her forever home in England. She is a big favorite with the team 🥰

A new arrival today. An old boy that I called Roberto. It won't be easy but he is in a much better place this evening than he was this morning. He has some dignity back 🤞
We said goodbye to Kerry today. She spent her final days in peace, with a full belly, soft bed, and all the cuddles. She may have come from hard beginnings, but she left surrounded by love. Rest easy, sweet girl🤍
This lovely big gentle boy came in today. He'd ended up with good caring guardians in the community but no money to operate so we helped him. Safe to say he is the most dramatic patient we've ever had! ❤️

I’m very lucky I’ve been through this many times. I know the fixes and what not to do. It’ll pass as it always does. I wrote this to hopefully help others. It’s taken me 25 years to figure much of this out. The more it’s talked about the better ❤️ (12/12)
10. Nothing makes me happy. I’ve taken the day off which is rare so I should love Netflix. Sports. Reading. Etc but I can’t get one ounce of joy from anything. There’s a general sense of sadness at everything. There isn’t one thing I could do that makes me happy today (11/12)
9. I’m moving like treacle. Everything feels like there is a fog around me and as if I’m in slow motion. I walk down the street looking at my feet hoping nobody will see me. Every step feels like it takes a week. A walk to the toilet is hard work. (10/12)
8. Sleep becomes hugely irregular. I feel like I could sleep for a week but can only get fitful sleep with vivid nightmares at night. Then out of nowhere in the day my body will collapse and have a deep 5 hour nap. The body doesn’t know if it’s coming or going (9/12)
7. Self loathing is huge. I know I have a great life with purpose, dogs and endless praise from people. Every day I feel blessed. Today though I hate myself and I’m useless at what I do. I hate my unhealthy lifestyle and question everything (8/12)
6. The tiniest things irritate my massively. Today I was angry because a lovely server poured me water three times (leave me alone FFS). My dogs Hank and Chance who I love even irritate me so much just by looking at me for a walk. My nerves are on edge all day. (7/12)
5. Everything is a catastrophe . Instead of being my normal upbeat self everything is a disaster in my head… My life. My health. My whole being. But even small things like the weather or traffic are all built into huge disasters that seem life threatening (6/12)
4. Along with exhaustion comes all the niggles and Aches. Sore back. Headache. Dehydration. It all adds up and comes at once. My heart will start racing and my muscles twitch as a panic attack hits. These can turn into cramps in legs. You think you are going to die (5/12)
3. The physical toll is huge. A general sense of exhaustion. Lifting the head off the pillow is tough. It’s not tired like a hard week at work. Anxiety leaves the body drained. Like a phone on 1%. There is nearly nothing left to give (4/12)
2. People scare me. The smallest conversation or bumping into anyone today is my nightmare. Even a friendly hello from a barista is terrifying. It’s not just real life. The sound of my WhatsApp or a phone ringing terrifies me. (3/12)
1. Indecisive / poor concentration. I can’t even decide to walk from one side of the room to another. Should I open the curtains or not? An hour can pass deciding if I should take a shower. Achieving even the most trivial thing like feeding myself is hard to accomplish (2/12)
I’ve suffered my whole life from depression and anxiety. I have both really bad today. I thought I’d try explain my typical symptoms so other sufferers or their friends and family can understand it better. This is what depression feels like… (1/12)
