Sorry, I missed your prior post. "The message" is simply something that actually resonates with people. It's not the only message. I agree that there has been too much compromise, ceding ground and losing credibility because groups are thrown under the bus.
That's why moderates won't cut it. Every group needs to be vigorously and vocally championed within the party without relying on the GOP. There's a lot of work to do. A lot of partisan cooperation required. No Manchins; no Sinemas. Authentic representatives.
Message is one thing; delivering is another. And Democrats have rarely ever been good with the Message. Obama 2008 delivered the message. Recently, Bernie/AOC delivered it on tour, but even then, who joined them? Right-leaning Democrats crapped on them. Mamdani delivered it and faced (D) skepticism.
The control is real.
Every aspect of normalcy is collapsing due to the neglect of institutions. But in regards to the democratic base, while their common needs were addressed, niche needs required systemic repairs easily blocked by politicians resistant to change. Unaddressed: George Floyd, Gaza, 1st Responders, etc
It's the source of much problems but it's not the root cause. The court extended 1st Amendment free speech protections to corporations and unions. Articles 1, 2, & 3 have failed. 9th Amendment is weakly interpreted. 14th Amendment has failed. 22nd won't work. All is wide open for abuse.
The democratic base as I understand it, is a diverse group with a diversity of political needs. That base is not radical but a moderate politician cannot effectively serve those needs. There's a lot of structural work to be done.

Citizens United is definitely a major problem, but the US Constitution needs major revitalizing. The USA is the 2nd oldest government in the world. It's no wonder that we lag behind other modern countries in democracy and laws preventing abuses of power.

Respectfully, the only mistakes I see are 1. Not investing into the institutions that were supposed to keep us free because they were moderates lacking vision unlike the enemies, and 2. promoting moderates who left the base feeling abandoned. The lesson was in 2010 and the DNC still doesn't get it.
