As I discussed with @nbcboston.com -- Dr. Monarez's firing was a move based in politics, not science. For a Senate confirmed position, there is no reason why HHS (not the White House) should announce this move. I fully support @sanders.senate.gov call for a bipartisan Senate investigation.

The average American simply has no idea how quickly the infrastructure that keeps us safe and healthy is collapsing. These systems run in the background thanks to government employees who quietly do critical work. Those employees are being purged and systems are being destroyed.

Vaccines are scrupulously and rigorously researched, trialed, tested and continuously monitored. I get a little tired repeating this but itās important. They are not the villain but the potentially fatal diseases they prevent are. I and my colleagues have seen them all.
