Tragic. Where we differ is u have an absolutist attitude against AI being a solution /helping patients.AI (like self-driving cars) will improve dramatically very soon & not make the same errors. AI will help reach those too poor to pay $300hr or in remote locales in desperate need of self-help tools
I think that if either a human or an AI is found they pushed someone into committing suicide, then they are liable.
And while you are at it. Defend the human therapists who were tried for contributing to a patient's subsequent suicide, whether by continuing to offer prescriptions they knew were being abused or in forcing them to relive child trauma they were not ready to handle. Mental illness is like that
Nope... and I don't think AI therapists are doing that either - unless, I guess, if a kid randomly asked ChatGPT how to do that. Hell... a simple Google search gets that info. Please share where AI therapists gave that advice unwittingly/ I am willing to be educated
Please remember that most suicide attempts are by people IN therapy with human counselors or have been. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for mental illness. AI can and has played a role in helping people. Human interventions often help, but often fail, too. #NoPerfectAnswer

I already did. Try asking a question to the latest ChatGPT. If you are struggling with something in life, ask for some ideas. Then imagine that PHD level of offerings you will get back offered to poor or needy people anytime 24/7. There are countless other ways it brings knowledge to us to consider

Common sense - AI interactive agent (teaching) a human in far-off places where there are no universities or real education options or "teachers" is a good thing for that kid and that kid's community—hard stop. AI is reading radiological scans (in medicine),far more accurately and far quicker than any HUMAN is capable. Fact. There are countless other remarkably positive uses. Stupid, greedy PEOPLE are destroying Earth. Cars kill people, too, but we try to make them safer. That's our BIG challenge with AI.
AI is neither entirely good nor entirely bad. When someone provides examples of how it can genuinely help 'teach", they must be "AI boosters" —as if they could not possibly offer a valid, counter viewpoint. That says a lot more about your rigid mindset, IMHO. Tech is nuanced, not black or white.
Don't have an agenda. I called someone purposely ignorant because to say there are NO positive uses of AI is ignorant. It just is, no agenda. One has to avoid the real innovation taking place (on purpose). AI is not all good. But to say there is NOTHING good? Well, that is not an informed opinion.

Remote villages (billions of people) will soon have AI teachers available to them at virtually NO cost. Versus NO teachers or medical advice at all. Studies show students given access to an AI tutor learned more 2X as much in less time compared to those who had in-class instruction. Facts matter
You must be purposely ignorant to say this. AI can read a CT scan and X-rays in seconds and catch things the human eye misses. There are so many more examples for drug creation and coding for software or teaching students where no schools exist. Seriously, do your homework.
