AI does have value, but the current signal:noise ratio is way off the mark. Shotgunning AI at everything is counter productive, invasive, relies heavily on exploiting user data, and the technology lacks the ethical guardrails needed for widespread application. Most AI is glorified spellcheck.

The Miranda is the Space DC3/C47 or Space UH-1 Iroquois ("Huey"). It may be old, but can't be beat for reliability or number of hours on the spaceframe. If you just need a ship that works and does the dirty jobs without complaint, you give that mission to the Miranda Class.

I notice that no one has a problem with mail-in ballots in Red states and counties. Utah, for example, has had mail ballots since 2013 and Trump has never accused them of election fraud. Apparently election fraud only happens when he loses key swing states and never in GOP strongholds.

Age of first marriage is also up starting around that time; more mature marriages tend to be more stable than those that start in the teens or early 20s. You also have more women in the workforce starting in the 90s, especially in higher paying jobs resulting in less financial dependence on partners
Sasquatch (@sasquatch1.bsky.social) reply parent
IPV was a problem then and still remains one today. In the late 90s you were only about 15-20 years away from women being able to get a credit card without their husband's permission - and women were still regularly asked if their husband approved of major financial choices.
Sasquatch (@sasquatch1.bsky.social) reply parent
Marriages used to "work" because women were property and financially controlled by their husbands; they couldn't even get a bank account without their husband's permission. Intimate Partner Violence was an expected way of managing conflict, and even joked about in popular media. "Good ol' days"
