When my father (RIP) had congestive heart failure, the treatment was diuretics (possibly diet too but I’m Not 100% sure about diet). The issue with the diuretics (or so I was told) is that they destroy the kidneys. Once you’re diagnosed with CHF, that disease and its treatment is a death spiral.
