There are obviously a bunch of mass produced notebooks but are those the ones you are referencing? Sometimes the amount that a person is charging is simply that, what they decided to charge, not what it's worth in a fair market. If it's cheaply made but proceeds benefit something, it matters
Artists create the work that is used for the covers, sometimes it's a graphic design, others it's handcrafted, those artists created something of value. The item itself might be worth that, without having to argue that the potential is where the value lies or that it's being sold an idea vs an item
Without context that's hard to say, what factors might contribute to the price of that notebook if you're being generous? The value of a notebook doesn't have to be a devaluing of an author's novel, they are fundamentally different things with different uses. Someone had to design that cover..
