This grackle, missing the top half of their beak, has been visiting my feeder a lot lately. They scoop the seeds up and then tip their head back to swallow. It looks like the beak possibly broke off? Seems to be a remnant there. They seem to be thriving. 🪶 #birds
From afar, Mourning Doves look very plain, but up close they are quite colorful. Sky blue around the eye, pink/red arou d the beak, and a flash of irridescent pink on the shoulder. 🪶 #birds

I’m in NY and tried to get an appt last night. Couldn’t.
My ev has a little compartment for charging the phone. I leave my phone in there 50% of the time. A million alarms, but not one to tell me I left my phone in the car.
I carry a small backpack and keep the keys hooked to it. Frees up my hands when I’m out and about
I *think* there is a security benefit to the push button start. But seems like there might be other ways to grt that benefit. I don’t like all the touch screen controls.

I think they read constantly on social media and texting. But that makes long form reading, anything longer than a couple paragraphs, requiring sustained attention, challenging. I saw this happen to both my kids. Both were voracious readers as children.
They will not have been taught how to write, and LLMs have made it worse. They need basic computer skills because in K-12 all they know is chrome books and google docs.
