The current crisis can't be solved without a radical shift in how we live, how we participate in government and how we treat each other. The path we've been on is not sustainable.
Social media gives us all a false sense of our own importance. Right now someone needs to know that I'm going to the post office, what I had for din din or whether or not I like brownies. Not really.

The more I disconnect from social media in general, the better I feel. It's important to stay aware i.e. Bluesky. It's also important to know when enough is enough for one day. Technology should be a tool for the masses not a vehicle for political and corporate manipulation.

This administration doesn't use logic or facts. There is no deep analysis. Every stupid sound bite gets twisted into a bizarre "reality" to fit the mood of the moment. He only likes FOX when he agrees with its lies. Sanity doesn't apply.
I'd like to see more governors in blue states be very clear about their opposition and to rally the masses. They don't all have to be Gavin Newsom but they need to be a lot more visible and louder than they are now. Newsom's found a way around poor media coverage but capturing attention.
Watched the movie "Battle of the Bulge" yesterday. The Nazi's had much better uniforms and songs then this latest batch. The newbies can't even made villainy impressive. This current debacle is mud wrestling on steroids.

Can't wrap my head around this level of stupid at all. My MAGA cousin listens to the bloviated right-wing pod casters for their "interpretation" of what Trump says. That seems ever dumber to me. She also had her dad tell her who to vote for until he died.
Their crazed preoccupation with "sinful" sex and male dominance is a huge red flag that they're sexual predators.
Trump behaves like a washed-up-has-been who lives in a old trailer. A rusty car with no tires fills his tiny yard. His trailer was a former meth lab and still reeks of chemicals. He doesn't notice because he's busy with a bull horn so he can loudly spew hate speech at everyone who passes by.

Got to admit that taking BlueSky off my phone has really improved my mental health. Focusing on what I can do instead of feeding that helpless feeling that doom scrolling produces is a game changer.
Just my scripts. No groceries. The quality was never as good as some of the local alternatives anyway. They're notorious for cheating on the weights of their meat. The listed weight and the actual weight often don't match at customer expense. Tempted to bring a scale into any store now.
My Medicare flex benefits force me to shop at Walmart. The last time I was there I was really surprised by just how much prices had jumped. My local grocery chain has lower prices. (Grocery prices are nuts overall.) So why are Walmart's price increases disproportionate to my store's increases?
Sadly, this is exactly the kind of BS that his supporters will put a spin on it and say, "What he really meant was this. . . " No, what he really means is either wrong or insane but usually both.

One of the biggest changes we need to make to effectively change the strangle corporations & the powerful have on Americans is to disconnect from a rabid consumer culture. Needing something and wanting something are two very different things. Debt makes the wealthy richer.
While commenting and posting about the current crisis might solidify solidarity, it doesn't feel very effective. If we are able to return to some semblance of sanity, we're going to need to do things a lot differently. Not sure how many people are ready for that.

So grateful to other countries support of Zelensky. They made a huge statement with their presence.
Current president is a buffoon. Despicable and dangerous. He needs to go but it's incredibly important to focus on the failure of the system, the corporate money behind control and the corruption of so many politicians. Getting rid of 47 is a start but it is only the beginning.
Any Democrat that doesn't respond to this administration as a country in crisis, is not a Democrat that will ever get my vote again. . . This is not business as usual. Provided that we still get to vote in fair elections.

To reclaim some of my questionable sanity, I took the BlueSky App off my phone. Got to limit my exposure yet still stay aware so I'll access on my PC. Besides BlueSky looks fantastic on my monitor. Stay sane, people. Who'd have thought it would be so hard?
There is going to be a “bigly” amount of unsold cars and bankrupt car dealers. “Bankruptcies for everyone!” Most of us are going to have to live in a well-hidden old van down by the river.

For the weary souls..
The MAGA I knew as kids struggled in American government and history classes. They didn’t care. They didn’t understand. Their worlds were limited. It was easy for a jailer to come in and chain that world. They don’t know their jailer. They never did.
They see themselves in him and can’t acknowledge it? They share similar characteristics? The MAGA I know are angry & have always felt cheated. They don’t take responsibility for their mistakes. They constantly complain about government even now but it’s still the Democrats fault. Familiar?
Finally!! Aware of this for years. Few wanted to acknowledge how war makes the US richer. They didn’t accept the fact that some people would be willing to accept loss of life as part of profits.
Seen this play out long before this current insanity. One example: mentally ill man in our block (Vancouver, WA) shot by eight cops for throwing rocks at them. Cops were exonerated. Saw with my own eyes. Rocks were gravel. Now there is much less to stop the cops from executing people.
A lot of corporations made stupid decision prior to now but it’s going to be a lot worse. When you financially disable the masses, profits are going to take a hit. Wake up corporate America. The customers are the reason you’re rich. We matter even if you still don’t see it.
