Nothing wrong with paper maps. In the UK they’re an integral part of flying training (and exams). We are obliged to carry the latest map (issued annually) though most of us use GPS as well, with the paper map as backup, in case the GPS batteries go flat, or there’s a problem with signal.

There have some truly great female world leaders, like New Zealand’s Jacinda Ardern, but in the UK we’ve had some spectacularly bad ones, like Margaret Thatcher and Liz Truss, both of whom have inflicted immense damage on the country. The only other was Theresa May who was much better.

What was the reason behind having the electoral college in the first place? The First Past The Post system we have in the UK is pretty awful, but when we have a referendum we just count the votes for and against. Gerrymandering is illegal here.

I recently met a couple who have come back from Spain. They’d been to Spanish lessons before going there, and further lessons once there. Their problem was that they lived in an English enclave, where nobody else spoke Spanish. They also said that the locals spoke too fast for them to understand.
Many Americans certainly don’t. They don’t seem to know the difference between mimicking and parody.
I can only hope that potential Fartage voters look at the mess his buddy, the orange felon, is making in the US, with similar policies, and wake up. One point in our favour is that our Supreme Court is far superior to theirs.

The Torygraph has a front page article about raising the pension age to 70, & tying future rises to life expectancy. We already have the worst pension in Europe & life expectancy has gone down due to Covid, so the pension age should be coming down, not going up again.
When insurance is involved the costs always go up, as can clearly be seen in healthcare and motoring. The US spends twice as much as the UK, per capita, on healthcare, with worse outcomes. Privatisation only ever benefits the shareholders
