People are often surprised to learn that Lee was an officer who never made it past colonel. The purported promotion to general was awarded by a treasonous cabal calling itself the "confederate states of america" which was put down by force by the Union army, which also had superior generals.
It's absolutely baffling. But beyond the moral squick of it all, it also seems wildly foolish to draw the ire of multiple people with the resources to bring a legal case against Meta for this.

There are a few films that come to mind, but I'm going to go with 12 Monkeys; it was a film that I was incredibly hyped to see which also lived up to my expectations. It was also the start of me figuring out my own cinematic taste, not something family or instructors were directing me towards.

One last bit of Americana praise: not shocking, given that the writer/director also wrote a book in the 33 1/3 series, but the soundtrack is both uniformly excellent and does a really great job of adding to the characterization. (A song by The Clean is used to v. memorable effect, for instance.)
I also appreciated the way that Americana was both a fine example of neo-noir and a film with a clear point of view; there was more to it than just "wouldn't it be cool if these people started shooting at each other." One character cites political theorists, and it doesn't feel like window dressing.
