all of his movies present themselves as deep and thought provoking but if you actually do try to think about them a little bit they fall apart they're usually entertaining at least

All of the major game content in Mewgenics is done now as of yesterday. There's still some minor bits left to do and lots of polish + balance + bugfixing, but the important bits are all there! See you all in february!

I also think formal bug reporting tools are a bit useless if you want bug reports from non-professional-QA playtesters. If the process for reporting a bug is just "post it in the discord" people will be more likely to report stuff

(with a little bit more complexity if your glyphs are meshes and not just bitmap quads, but not *that much* more complexity)
this is pretty strange cause its dirt simple to do at the engine level. You have to tell the GPU how many triangles to render anyway, so if you want to "only draw the first 10 characters" you just tell it only draw the first 20 triangles of the text geometry
unity is a mess and doesn't seem to have included that property on their legacy UI junk so there's bad sample code all over the place
yeah those are both the same problem (of doing it by adding one character at a time to the text box's displayed string). The correct way is to just change the number of max visible characters on the text box (unity has maxVisibleCharacters on text meshes)
I'm pretty sure nearly every engine also just has a "max rendered characters" field on their text boxes these days which is how you *should* be doing this effect
If you're curious, there's ~60 bosses/minibosses in the game

LLMs only operate on text so anything that involves images or videos usually has a separate AI run a classifier on the image first (image to text) and feed that info into the LLM. so in chatgpt's defense this is kind of not really its own fault.
It's not actually looking closer in that case, if you try it with the *actual* impossible object ("could this object be built" -> "are you sure?" -> "look closer") it convinces itself that it *can* be built

what you do is toss in some litmus test / edge case names that it should flag and check to see if it got those right. if there's a kind of name that it doesnt catch, you can have it flag for that category too (ex, full names of real people)
The ironic part about this is that, despite google pushing AI *everywhere* where it doesn't belong, this actually-useful usecase is kind of hidden and requires opt-in on a completely separate page to use

yeah I was on aftermarket joycons on the og switch after the sticks on my first ones fell apart. the magnetic attachment on the switch 2 ones feel so fucking slick

The one downside I've seen people say is that there's only 3 easy "combo" presses on this (A+B, A+X, A+Y) where as the diamond design has 4, but I can't think of any games that actually used all 4 combo presses on a diamond design? Usually there's always a main button you're hovering over
A is big and obviously the "main" button, B is a smaller secondary button, Y is on the +Y axis, and X is on the +X axis, all unique shapes so zero ambiguity when trying to map on screen prompts to button presses

I think donkey kong bananza accidentally got twice as much time for their dev cycle since the tech couldn't run on the switch 1, so they had to wait for the switch 2, which took a while. almost 8 years for a platformer game is crazy
I'm also a sucker for games that are extremely tech-inspired which Bananza absolutely is. They had some voxel tech they wanted to build a game around, and boy did they do just that. It was impressive how many different gimmicks they were able to come up with based on it
I extremely appreciate nintendo actually doing a new take on the series, because I don't have much nostalgia for DKC snes games (having had a sega genesis as a kid instead of a snes), and I don't think that DKC has aged particularly well either. Bananza just feels so natural for the character though

unfortunately if you aren't using "known" mail servers you tend to get blacklisted/spamfiltered really quickly. I dont use gmail as my main, but most webhosts have their own hosting-provided email servers you can use instead.
you could calculate the params for that pretty easily, I dont think it would look all that much different from just using one perspective camera. try it
