That’s the dilemma that all the top drivers face. Some get lucky with a great car at the right time in their career and some don’t. Pretty much all great athletes face some version of this. Peak at the same time as someone better and your career looks a lot different. Just part of the deal.

That’s my point. Gov agencies generally haven’t operated this way. Going down this road is bad for both maga and normal agents. Both will be fired every 4-8 years. Becoming an agent is a long process. Why bother now. Not worth the time and hassle.
The only way this ends is a tit for tat, nuclear deterrent strategy. You have them, we have them. We’ll destroy each other so we might as well work together. If Dems don’t adopt this mindset, we’ll lose.
This has to become a Dem priority. States get back what they put in. Make it a campaign priority.

As someone who also lives in a deep blue part of Dallas, I concur with your statement. However, we have a statewide electorate that will not care about this. Not sure how we can make them care except to do the same tactics in states where we have the ability to do so.

This will be the case in every area, not just at the fed. FBI, DOJ, HHS, FEMA, etc. All will have to be purged. The Republicans have opened the Pandora’s box of massive govt purges for every new admin. While probably necessary, it will not be good or sustainable. Not many good answers here.

As a Texan, I can tell you this will not work. Paxton is running and his coalition represents Texas maga voters 100 percent. They love him and he will be the nominee. The NRSC has zero sway with these people. Honestly, the above statement will be a badge of honor for Texas maga. Let them fight.

Absolutely fair to wonder. Whether it contributed to this tragedy or not, it highlights that those cuts, could and will have real world implications in future weather events. At a minimum it should be a wake up call for all of us that the funding is worth it and can save lives.
