I want to see Bolton suffer, be discarded by everyone he ever knew, be triumphed over by everyone he ever lied to or hurt. That isn’t what’s going down today. He’s being trashed by someone he once promoted, primarily for self aggrandizement. MORE

Agreed. We can abhor what is happening, which is clearly the Trump administration using the DOJ and FBI as its Fascist militia. I never trusted any of them after Watergate. I was around and paying attention. I remember how they behaved then.

Mario Batali’s partnership with the Bastianich family was good, until it wasn’t. Batali’s celebrity status on shows such as Molto Mario and The Chew boosted visibility for the Bastianich family, helping expand their restaurant empire and brand reach. It cost them a bundle to get shed of him.

The Bastianich family had a long-standing professional relationship with Batali, including co-owning renowned establishments like Babbo and Del Posto. Following the allegations, Lidia and her children, Joe and Tanya Bastianich Manuali, took over Batali’s shares in their restaurant group.

Batali was tried but acquitted of indecent assault and battery charges. Batterers are usually smart enough to do their assaulting out of the eyes of witnesses, which makes the charges difficult to prove conclusively. Rapists and child molesters count that.

The expensive part of these modern reproductions isn’t the the print, it’s the frame. You can get a full size printed reproduction for about $85. The frame will cost you around $350, depending on how fancy you want it. But it’s still a reproduction. Claiming it’s original really is fake.

Example of a reproduced Renoir painting mounted with a fancy frame.

Art experts have confirmed that Trump’s version is not authentic; it appears to be a copy or reproduction, and more likely a Giclee (printed) reproduction. There’s zero chance it’s real.

What Trump has, and is lying about, (and if his mouth is open and his gums flapping and sound comes out, he’s lying) is that it’s a genuine Renoir.

So, about that “Renoir.” The original graces the Art Institute of Chicago. I’ve seen it there. There is no crime in having copies of art you admire. I have quite a few in my house. I would never suggest that they were originals.
