Have I told you about the first time I let my daughter walk alone to piano practice? She had to cross a (big-ish) street, so I told her I would walk behind her and observe. At the zebra walk my daughter, like a boss, puts out her palm to signal the oncoming driver to stop. And Björk stops her car.
I grew up near Claremont, and this is amazing! Driving to L.A. was a hassle, how cool there's now a light rail.
Kinda like peanut butter cookies in our house :)

Their excuses about crime panned out, so now it's blatantly clear why they want to invade cities. I live in a sanctuary city (Denver) & our mayor is already talking about what to do (lawsuit) when they set their sights on us. But they don't respect lawsuits.

Lakeside, oldest amusement park in Colorado (built 1908), in our Denver 'hood. Kerouac sometimes hung out here in early 1950s, wrote about it in "On the Road" (“rode around a sad little lake in a toy railroad"). Still there. R : 150-foot "Tower of Jewels" at main entrance. #AmusementPark #History

Thank you for your many, many hours of hard work & care. I'll never forget the detectives that refused to give up after my stepbrother's murder, a hate crime. Cold case for 1.5 years, but detectives' work eventually found the men, now serving life. Wishing you success in your future law practice.

Yrs ago, I lived in Hollywood apartment complex where a guy's apartment door was Always Open. One day I went to open door & yelled, "Hi, can I come in?" Guy said, "Sure!" That's how I met Jackie Curtis (Warhol superstar, kid you not). He left his door open b/c "Nobody breaks in if the door's open."

Hub: "Guess who called." Me: "Who?" Hub names homeless man we've been looking for, for weeks. Almost ready to give up, glad we didn't. Man has $$ coming to him (doesn't know it yet - we gave him number of lawyer, who'll handle it from here). It's a crazy world, but there are still hopeful stories.

Been w/ hub 23 years & always learning something new. Today he told me, as a kid, his mom put below sign on his bedroom cork board. She was a life-long activist. Before she died, she & fellow wheelchair users planned to shut down a CA freeway to protest a nuclear power plant. Fierce until the end 💪

I freeze leftover veggies & use to make vegetable broth. Last night I made veg broth for leek soup & it came out red (L) b/c of beet stalks oops. Told hub, "Soup's gonna be pink or red. Hope that's okay." Surprise! Came out pale yellow & delicious (R) Recipe link in 1st comment. #Soup #Vegetarian
