Iāve never in my life been affiliated with either party but even I fell for the illusion of the Dems people-centric policies. After decades of proclaiming their values without ever actually acting on them, itās clear they either canāt or wonāt be anything other than defenders of the status quo.
Money in politics has definitely been one of the most corrupting influences in our government. Citizens United put it in an accelerated course but this has been a growing problem for decades. It all turns when politics stops being a public service and starts being a lucrative career.
Very fair point, although I was referring more to his mockery campaign. Trumpās ego has a lot of soft spots and heās poking at all of them. Itās also the most effective approach Iāve seen to hold a mirror up to MAGAās hypocrisy. The legislative fight is much more nuanced but so far Iām encouraged.
You donāt have to be running for office to engage with others on their ideas, but offering none and then slinging criticism is counterproductive. Iām happy to discuss alternative resistance strategies or which person to support, but this clearly isnāt going to be that kind of discussion.

Iām a big fan of voting with our wallets. I do worry though that corporations have gotten so big and diversified that it makes it difficult to impact their bottom lines. Tesla boycotts may have been one of the largest yet but Musk still got a $29 billion bonus package.

Yeah thatās not even close to what I said. Newsom is having an effect which is more than anyone else has been able to accomplish with the old, tired playbook. Is he perfect? Not by a long shot. Californians have said as much for ages. But until someone else steps up, I would rather him than no one.
