I was at Union Station last year. I did encounter a homeless man. He just said "Jesus loves you" and that was it. Thinking we need to call the troops on him is inhuman cruelty.

I wasn't doing much console gaming when these were out. But the figures looked great, and I liked the style.

Yep. I keep remembering when I had a job at Public Works for a small town. I was told I couldn't accept a plate of cookies from a resident. The point isn't that cookies are persuasive, but rather citizens deserve to know favorable treatment can't be bought.

I've never seen Battlefield Earth, tho I keep thinking I should dive in due to it's infamy. I did read the synopsis.
Someone I know said they would have liked The Fifth Element except for Chris Tucker. I had to disagree. He brought some energy to that film.
I would recommend it also. In addition to the action scenes, it had nice touches too like when the 2nd in command has that moment with alternate universe Delroy Lindo.
Some of the reviews said it wasn't a good example of a martial arts movie since it used f/x shots at lot. And maybe, that's not my genre. But as a sci-fi film it was enjoyable.
The Truman Show Great story, great music, great ending.
This occurred to me seeing that "The One" got 13% on Rotten Tomatoes. I enjoyed it. It has a tight sci-fi story with effects you probably won't see anywhere else. Oscar worthy? No. But so what, it's fun.
John Carter. I do like this movie. But the title is terrible. "A Princess of Mars" is very evocative. We've got royalty, and a location that implies sci-fi. But "John Carter" sounds like it could be the biopic of the guy who invented velcro.

If I can include myself: I saw City Slickers in the theater. One of the lines was "If hate were people, I'd be China." I was the only person to laugh in an almost full theater.
I remember seeing Star Wars in the theater. The biggest reaction was huge cheers and applause when the Millennium Falcon arrives just before Luke destroys the Death Star.
I had a similar experience watching Star Trek the Voyage Home. A whole row of people were applauding every name in the opening credits. After they applauded the actress who played Gillian, someone said "Who is that?"
