Anecdotes aren't a good way to judge this. I have lived in San Antonio, and I have literally never met anyone as left as myself (and i'm not an ideologe, just an uncommited advocate for worker power) since I went away for college. Your social circles affect this a lot.
Most people don't engage in online politics. Even fewer people ever make a comment. Online discourse is not a good heuristic. I am not someone who blames the left for Republican wins. I blame conservatives. But polling does show that most people with leftist views in the US do vote for Democrats.
I live in Texas. It's extremely conservative. The largest voting block is unaffiliated in Texas because of the weird way we record party affiliation. Swing states are partly an artifact of media reporting, but they are also states that aren't safe for either party.
The vast majority of leftists understand the stakes and show up to vote against fascism. Regardless of who primary voters pick. The recent election did have extraordinary circumstances, but the outcome of a primary would have likely been more right-wing. Newsome or Shapiro.
You do notice on this that almost all the swing states, Trump beat your "no" vote, right? I think it's pretty obvious why people don't take the time to vote in states where the outcome is certain.
