I think the situation here is that Newsom is one of the few Democrats actively and publicly fighting back. So maybe, other Democrats who have better politics than him should also fight back?

Sometimes, we biologists would track down our “science lineage” (basically which labs our advisors studied in, which labs their advisors studied in, etc) and somehow, despite me being a biologist, I am a direct scientific descendent of Bohr. Knowing my advisor, this suddenly makes a lot of sense.
My dad refused to let me read his favorite mystery series until I was 18 because of the sex scenes. They ended up being ludicrously tame compared to the ones I’d already accidentally stumbled on by reading books with swords on the cover.
The only classic sci-fi that I think everyone should read right now is Neuromancer. Mostly because we're well on our way to living it and it's good to be prepared. Other than that, pick something that sounds fun. I found some great books as a kid by reading any book with a sword on the cover.

tbf, my book is currently 250k words long and not done, so once all the fat is trimmed out, there will be enough left to write several more books.

I'd be really interested to see if it's only respiratory infections or any severe lingering infection that causes this reaction. I can see a situation where the immune system is weakened by fighting another infection and doesn't keep the cancer cells in check, leading to a re-emergence.

The lowest grade I’ve gotten in any class was handwriting, which I got a C in. The funny part is my handwriting is pretty good if I’m allowed to print some of the letters (can’t do cursive r or q, never could) I designed my own cursive which is just as fast but far more legible.
My AC runs off of solar too, but maybe more importantly, my house was designed for a hot climate pre-AC so it has to get quite hot (over 100F) before I even need it.

The reason it's a training is it's not intuitive that it works like this. It's like not pouring water on a grease fire. People do it all the time because they panic and they think it will work. And sometimes you *can* put out a grease fire with water. But mostly you'll burn your house down.
The other children on the ship would not be in danger from me jumping in the ocean. There were other crew. The point is the child in the water would be further endangered by me jumping in after them because now the reduced crew have to save two people and don't know where either of them are.

the people who aren’t spotting throw in every floatation device available while the rescuers get ready to go after them. This creates a trail and gives the person in the water bright orange floats to hold onto which also speeds up the rescue.
That’s why everyone else then throws over every floatation device available. Both to create a trail and to give the person something to hold onto until the rescue can be mounted.
I’ve done extensive man overboard training when I worked on an ocean going ship that primarily had children as clients. Keeping track of the person who fell over speeds up the rescue process to a minute or so. We also throw over every floatation device available to give them aid in floating.

He put that kid at greater risk by jumping. What if nobody saw the father go over? In the ocean a person can disappear from sight extremely quickly, even an adult. If you see someone go overboard, you have to keep them in *constant* line of sight or they're gone forever.
Don't jump off a boat after someone who has fallen overboard, seriously. Even if it's your child. Maybe even especially if its your child. It makes it harder for the rescuers to locate either of you because you can't direct them to the person who fell overboard or throw floating items to them.

I don’t know much about nuclear power specifically, but I do know a thing or two about power plants in general and a huge reason you want to have engineers design them is because there’s a lot of location specific stuff you need to account for.
Yup, also a scientist, feels like some people read every paper like it’s their job, while I’ve only ever been able to read the ones that specifically relate to my project.
If it gets you nutrients, carbs, protein, and you can eat it daily without getting sick of it, yup. Batch prep is best, but I’d also say that if it’s very easy prep (open jar of sauce, thaw previously prepped ground protein, boil pasta) it also would count.
I recently have seen an uptick in food YouTube videos for making “autism chow” (any meal that has all the nutrients and you know you won’t get sick of eating every day) and I realized that I already do this. Pasta with stuff on is my go to meal.
