It’s always best to be safe if you can. My regular rabbit vet is in New Orleans and will call you back after hours for potential emergencies, and meet you at the clinic if needed. But I’ve never known any other vet do that.

Argh, I’m so sorry. I know the vet school has closed occasionally, but they’re usually open for emergencies on holidays. I’ve had to drive there in the middle of the night with a rabbit a couple times. I hope Parish is feeling better soon.

It’s also a problem here because kids don’t go to the schools closest to them. Charters, and magnet schools before them, have kids being bussed across town. New Orleans has all charters and kids in the same family may not end up at the same school.

Also even the bathroom stuff now has majority approval for the pro-trans side (in the US at least). If you actually bother to make an effort to frame the issues, you have no need to sacrifice any groups for the sake of electability. And if you don't make that effort, you can't win regardless.

People rightly point out that this school aerial shot looks like there are no viable walking paths. I have seen similar suburban mega schools — chosen for cheap land, parent control, etc — that do at least have sidewalks and bike paths.

Raffles liked to listen to music while I brushed him at night. He liked rock music with women playing guitar and/or bass, and he liked it loud enough that he could feel it through his bed. My mom would say I had it too loud for him, but he really did like feeling the vibrations.

I still mask in public, but ironically my elderly parents don’t, so they’re the ones who bring ick home. I really wish the pandemic had led to full scale upgrades of indoor air quality and filtering all over the world. It did after the flu pandemic of 1919! We got hot radiators and windows to open.
