No argument here. I was an editor longer than a reporter, so I can confirm. But there ARE good, knowledgeable journalists - we just have to boost them as much as we can.
I've had an interest in history and read incessantly since I was a kid. I'm of the Vietnam War/Watergate generation, and I wanted to be a journalist since junior high. Of course I knew I needed such knowledge to be a good journalist, but I also just wanted to learn, for me.
Manfred, and MLB, have NOTHING to do with who gets into the Hall of Fame. The only "deal" is in Donny's empty head.
Spices are nice too. When my grocery store had a sale I bought up a bunch of spices to donate.

That's certainly possible. As an editor reading that story, my first question to the reporter would be who called the police.
