The AC placement is a relic of global warming. This apartment holds heat very well in the winter, but in the summer they put the AC in the farthest corner with no airflow because 20 years ago its only purpose was another 50 bucks a month rent.

My AC unit has a remote and I put a Command velcro strip on it to just keep it on the AC unit so I don't lose it. Not useful for my situation, it's line-of-sight and my AC is installed in a place such that if I can see it I can just reach out and press buttons.

Every chile season I get 6 or 7 pounds of Hatch green chiles, dice them up and put them in the freezer. A handful of that tossed into boxed mac and cheese or cheap ramen tastes amazing and really helps add nutrition on those days I can't be bothered to meal properly.

Campus Security has a history of standoffs with both the Feds and local police going back to before I was there 25 years ago. On multiple occasions they have prioritized the students/alums and had our backs with more than just words. So this is a big deal.
