only has the power to execute the laws passed by Congress. In that respect Congress is the primary seat of power in the Federal government. Everything the Trumpies are doing is contrary to the spirit of the Constitution. It is either inexcusable ignorance, or willful lies and deception. 2/2

SO TRUE Ms. Rubin! Trump has issued a zillion EOs (written, no doubt, by that crazed fanatic Russ Vought) predicated on the idea that Article II of the Constitution names the president as the executive. And the Trumpies take that to mean that he can do whatever he wants. NO!! The president 1/2

If Trump tries to derail the 2026 election, whether by posting federal troops at voting sites or by issuing an EO to purge 100 million Dems from voter rolls, you can bet that he will appeal EVERY legal challenge to SCOTUS. I would expect Justice Roberts to enter all such appeals at the top 1/2

Great interview, as expected. I just have 1 question for Rep. Raskin concerning presidential impoundments. It sounded to me that he would view the 1974 impoundment control act as redundant to the powers enumerated in Articles I and II. True?

It took MONTHS for this decision to be reached. If an Executive Order has the potential to ruin the entire U.S. economy, a challenge to that order should percolate to the top of every court docket. Out legal system is operating on rules and procedures that are about 200 years out of date.
