When I heard of the Catholic school shooting, I went numb. I purposely shut off my television, put down my phone, and wouldn't listen to my radio while driving today. Too many times, I've read/watched news about our children being slaughtered by gun violence. My heart hurts, and my anger soars.
I talked to an old friend the other day and found out she usually didn't vote. This caught me completely off guard. I told her she had no right to complain about anything political if she didn't vote. Of course she disagreed. Voter apathy is a major threat to democracy.
Your reminder that in America, we now have hospitals without maternity wards. You get what you vote for. You get this when you stay at home on Election Day.
