More and more I find that politics-related posts are turning off all comments. It's not the same as blocking (where a blocked person cannot reach the post in the first place) but a smack in the face to interested and agreeable parties who might be valuable supporters.
While comment sessions can turn into giant messes, cutting off comments completely frustrates the heck out of those who may AGREE with you. My sympathy dips right DOWN, when I find that someone has shut off all comments. Frustrating your potential or actual allies is counter-productive.
