3. DTJ proves once again he is incapable of understanding that judges use evidence without being “loyal” to the president who appointed them (well, most anyways) 4. He claims that somehow in the last months the tariff $$$ has already been appropriated or even earmarked to the military?

I think the premise is flawed. The question is, “As a ‘perfect’ pricing mechanism, why hasn’t the US stock market tanked yet and what does this mean for the credibility of economic theory?”

Why is it only between Gabbard and the CIA Chief? Why not the agent him/herself? Why aren't ALL CIA agents furious at Gabbard's ineptitude and cowtowing to Russia and its propaganda? There must be career agents who realize just how much jeopardy Gabbard puts the US into with each blunder.

Was the live band so impactful? As part of the TV audience, the music seemed just a truncated transition marker ("We're back!"). Seeing the host enthusiastically enjoy a 4 second song ending was odd ("What did I miss?")... OTOH, I know those who saw live shows really enjoyed the bands.

Agree. It’s misguided that 19th C immigration policies (or lack thereof) should apply today. A main reason immigrants want to move here (at least until recently) is that the US has infrastructure and services that mostly work (electrical grid, sewage, law, schools, etc). 19th C? Not so much.

I think if you were able to hook up an iMRI to the brains of the 1000s of billionaires at the moment when they learn they would owe $millions in taxes, the brain would light up in ways similar to a mother thinking about the loss of her child. It’s visceral.

A small silver lining - at least the waymo had lines of code that said “if you can’t figure out a new situation, then freeze.” Tesla’s autopilot’s code says, “if you can’t figure out a situation, keep going until you can!” www.reuters.com/sustainabili...

Emphasizing this: “When Rosa asked about his wife’s medical care, the agent cited HIPAA as a barrier to knowing her health issues. Rosa pointed out that doctors can share medical info with law enforcement for those in custody… as outlined in HIPAA. He said, ‘We’ll notify next of kin if she dies.’ “

I don’t trust this promise to deliver will not be revoked, restarted, delayed, revoked again. Putin wants time and is willing to let Trump continue to string Ukraine along.

I recall reading about many US sovereign nation types of Irish descent saying how they wanted to target their “homeland” for their delusional efforts to depose govt institutions. Follow the money and you might see those behind the Irish fringe group at US idiots.

Why hide the lede behind a neutral headline? “Trump fires analyst for report he doesn’t like”. THAT is the headline accurately portraying the context

Where are all of the other CEOs whose companies are affected negatively by this?!? Direct chip rivals (AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm), Alternative foundries (TSMC, Samsung, GlobalFoundries), equipment suppliers (risk of over-reliance on Intel), OEMs lose bargaining power & hardware diversity.

Already, the type of person seeking FBI jobs have black&white sense of justice right or wrong. No nuance. Add in loyalty tests, younger and less educated recruits, and a vindictive christo-fascist leadership and the FBI becomes a right wing militia instead of law enforcement, counter-terrorism

The GOP governors of South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee have all sent their states' National Guard troops to assist Trump's occupation of DC. All four of those states have cities with crime rates higher than DC. This was never about "fighting crime."

Went ahead and updated my map of cities with higher crime than D.C. to accommodate the two new states from the Deep South who are sending troops to the capital. In the five states there are 64 cities, home to 1.7 million people, that had more crime in 2024 than D.C. www.pbump.net/o/more-peopl...

This article could be clearer in saying Trump's claim is ridiculous horseshit. www.nytimes.com/2025/08/19/w... He’s claiming credit for ending conflicts that also started on his watch, for ceasefires in small border clashes and for stopping Israel’s war with Iran, which he allowed to being with.

I came for this. He rolled out the red carpet for Putin (literally), treated him a hero not a war criminal, ignores Putin’s continuous violations of treaties, promises, agreements. Trump has never said a word about 35k kidnappings of Ukrainian children nor indiscriminate bombing of hospitals, etc

During his interview with Trump on Air Force Once Bret Baier didn't push back at all when Trump made false statements about the history of inflation in the U.S. This is not something that is debatable. Inflation was much higher when Trump was a businessman in the 70's and 80s.
