Again there is no point in this discussion we agree to disagree and you need to understand that most things in life are black and white and there are many variables and nuances.
No they do not. Only when it comes to curriculum and then parents can opt their child out. Protecting ones own rights does not mean you are now the boss or control of anyone else. We are talking control of the child not the school.
Well society disagrees with you and also so would most parents. Many states have those types of laws protecting parental rights. But no one should be allowed to ban books except for their child.

Actually it is their right to attempt to control what their own children have access to. I said check out but if the child wants to sit in a library - oh well. The only discretion the school has is availability not force other than actual text books.
I already said no one should ban books. But if they want to forbid a library from letting them check one out that is their right - again stupid and if you do not think over time children see that then you do not give them the credit they deserve
I'm not advocating for controlling how anyone lives. I'm advocating against the idea that a parent's whims ought to be able to dictate how school employees do their jobs. They don't get to tell teachers or school librarians how to do their jobs.

I already stated how they could do it it if is pushed but no teachers are there to teach students not raise them. This is part of the issues with education - that responsibility should be fully with the parents and then they should be held accountable when that is not done.

Italy is doing something interesting with it's admission to medical school. Anybody with a high school diploma can enrol for the first semester (actually two months of intensive all day coursework). They take three course: Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. Mostly taught remotely.

if you remove parental rights than you are saying that children belong to the state and not parents, so basically they have no responsibilities. You must look at the long term issues. We know that authorities (teachers, etc.) harm children also so again perfection is not possible.
Children have legal protection if they are harmed by their parents by law, not right. Rights are things you can provide for yourself without any assistance from others. You can not make life perfect, (1

Actually if it is so important to parents and it really is their responsibility then allow them to come in and type the names of the books they do not want their child to see in the computer.

You know they have computers now and I assume children still check out books so you know who has them? So the computer would flag any books for a particular child - no real effort other than putting the info in the computer.

How about they can not remove a book from the library at all but they can give the school notice that they do not want the library to allow access to their child. Of course when you tell a child they can not do something - they most assuredly will.
