It does have to do with hormones etc incl cortisol. Common in folks w ADHD if that applies. There are some ways to try to moderate it (early exposure to sunlight, lots of exercise/mvmt thruout day, diet (types of food consumed & what time). But some of it is just baked in (night owls vs morn larks)

Today's complaint about the AI in education discourse: Too much of it is framed around a future that is going to happen to us, as opposed to seeing the future as something we may have some agency to shape. I reject the deterministic view of AI, particularly genAI. It's a tool, not our master.

It sucks, but you can do it. If what it takes is to just do C+ work (instead of your usual A+ work), do that. Like a slow day at the gym where you show up & do minimal effort, but at least you went You got this. Don’t lose your job. You’re needed Good luck

It's a standard playbook — for dominant groups to advance narratives that discredit groups they want to marginalize: "They're doing it for attention." Any woman who's reported a man for harassment or assault has been accused of being motivated by the desire for attention

Equally important: Why is he doing this in the first place? Hypothesis: He doesn't care abt the bracket, or the prizes. At a min, he wants to get people on the the platform At worst, he wants to start merging their public profiles w the info he collected from fed databases

Indeed. It shouldn’t impact your ability to vote. Until now, it never has, bc every state had reasonable registration rules The GOP is trying to push through this new law *because* they know that it will make a big chunk of women just give up

This is what the GOP's SAVE Act would do at the federal level. Adding layers of complexity to voter ID requirements that would strategically disenfranchise women and others who've changed their names.

As predicted, women in New Hampshire had a hard time voting yesterday because of the new proof of citizenship law: “It doesn’t have my married name on it,” she said. Town voting officials then sent her away a second time, to get her marriage certificate. www.nhpr.org/nh-news/2025...

I haven't really been worried about things like suspending voting, but if they can decrease the turnout of women by 5-10%, Republicans will have a huge advantage. That's what I think the GOP is banking on.

It will come, as you point out, when the price for what he’s doing will be paid on something he cares abt even more That’s what I meant (perhaps not clearly) abt either getting ahead of him or coming at him orthogonally C/

Eg: @karaswisher.bsky.social often talks abt how it is possible to rein him in — he talks smack abt a lot of things, but never abt China — bc he doesn’t want to piss them off So it is possible to constrain him. But it won’t come from just asserting that what he’s doing is illegal or harmful B/

Yes, put another way: You have to demotivate them That can come directly, or orthogonally What might they stand to lose (in any sphere) that is much more important to them than the thing they’re charging toward right now? A/

Absolutely right The entire biz world is frozen rn. They need certainty in order to plan/do deals etc... Good or bad, they just need to know what the landscape will be. And there's zero certainty right now. That might be one of the orthogonal moves that helps put the breaks on the meshugas

Fighting him by DC rules isn't going to succeed. Go talk to S.Valley folks, & see how what they'd do. You'll prob hear some interesting ideas. 14/

C) You'll only win by getting _ahead of him and/or finding a strategy that comes at him orthogonally. Again, I have no suggestions of what that is. Find your most creative & esp ruthless fighters and ask them what they'd do. And then do that. (Even if you have to hold your nose to do it.) 13/

B) Fighting him in the courts is fine. But understand that's a _reactive strategy. He'll still gain more of what he wants, and you'll still lose some of what you want to preserve. 12/
