I guess it's a sequel to Assault Girls Kentucky which is a short film that is up on youtube. I think someone needs to go and put together the continuity between all of his live action films. I swear one of the characters in Assault Girls is one of the dine and dashers from another film

You could probably do an edit of the series that is exactly that. The flashback episodes were such a waste of resources.
Gquuuuuux would have been better if it got rid of all of the flashback episodes, and just did slice of life with a big action scene at the end of every episode. Which is something you can say about all of his post FLCL work.
Beginning to understand why Gquuuuuux didn't quite meet my expectations...whoever told Tsurumaki that he should be spending decades doing mecha franchises instead of doing more short slice of life things like FLCL badly dropped the ball.
FLCL "Firestarter" is maybe my favorite singular episode of anything. I always start rewatches of FLCL with it.

The whole idea of putting a human conscioness in a synthetic body does my brain in. To my mind it means you died and a synthetic has stolen your identity. But then I dont feel the same about cyborgs. Maybe the difference is adding to vs moving? Maybe I see the soul as immovable
