if question 1 isn’t “will trump still be alive and if so what condition will he be in?” i’m not interested.

great idea in theory but the bus system here is so bad it can take one and a half or two hours for kids to get home.

I remain utterly mystified by anyone who thinks they must advise us not to underestimate Trump/Vance/the GOP. Who exactly has that problem? How many people do they see running around saying "lol these guys aren't dangerous, no need to fear!" that they feel compelled to warn against overconfidence?
grumpy toad (@mr-implausible.bsky.social)
“Trump on the balcony at Trump Tower.” (notice they aren’t including any reference to time/date with this pics. we’re just filling in the blanks.)

he still hasn’t personally fired susan monarez, either, which prompts questions about his health and raises concerns about his competence.

biden caught covid a few weeks after the debate, the WH disclosed it, and it still “prompted questions” and “raised concerns”

man now i see why george lucas decided to do the special editions. anyway this is not a judgment on the merits. i don’t even like harry potter.
grumpy toad (@mr-implausible.bsky.social)
i know millennials don’t want to hear this, but maybe they’re remaking harry potter in the exact same style because the special effects of our generation are cheesy and laughable to kids who grew up watching mature CGI. (source: just watched indiana jones & the last crusade with a middle schooler)

The biggest news story in the news right now is that the president of the United States hasn't made a public appearance or spoken to the protective pool in four days and the White House is actively lying about his activities, yet no news organization is covering it.

the benefit of the doubt angle (which, for the record, i don’t think the media deserves) is that this is a story you really, really don’t want to get wrong.

when biden caught covid, it was a much bigger story than this.

until don is in front of a camera and microphone my assumption is that he’s not in any condition to do the job. an unbiased press would be all over this. what the hell is going on? why hasn’t he made a public appearance since wednesday?
grumpy toad (@mr-implausible.bsky.social) reply parent
the gruden post notably did not reference a date/time. even without any malicious intent, “it was great playing golf with you!” could easily be “it was great playing golf with you last weekend!”

I just would not want my kid to witness this shit. when I was a kid, a bunch of plain clothes cops came through the metro with guns drawn to arrest someone. people ran off the train, and my dad had us duck behind a bench. we were never actually unsafe, but we didn't know it. traumatizing for a kid.
