I have to get one every two years. In Canada. My GI often schedules it a week out. (And then I complain it’s too fast!) They also won’t let me poop in a box. Damn underlying conditions.
I needed a non-emergency surgery and the surgeon just booked me the next week because I was easy. In Canada. Because our providers can make decisions. No insurance people getting in the way. (Didn’t even have to pay for parking as was dropped off and picked up.)
Towards your employees. What happened to treating your employees well? I’m blessed because my job still tries to but this is insane.
When I worked at a place that sold lunches for students, they gave us an allowance for a meal for every shift. And we had first dibs on anything that was expiring before it was tossed. This was pretty standard in the 90’s. I hate it here.
What does it say about me that I would just let him have his side? By rolling to my husband’s side but still.

Yep. I am all in on that. (Except maybe tequila. Can we even grow agave here? But I have always gotten Mexican tequila and they are our buds.)

There are times when I have a monologue (such as reading and composing this sentence). But other times, there are amorphous blobs of thoughts, remembered sensations or colours. When I am deep in thought and figuring something complicated out there are never words.

Yeah. There are back and chafing issues then. But I do wear a sleep bra 90% of the time now. And stretchy pants. The shoes I had to give up about ten years ago. All my joints went haywire. Now, only sport sandals in summer and hiking shoes in winter.

And why it is everyone else’s responsibility to get vaccinated to protect those children. If all the rest of us are vaccinated, it doesn’t spread reducing the risk for anyone who can’t get the vaccine. The government should be pounding this into our heads.
To be fair, the child also has to go somewhere for treatment. And the vaccine cannot be administered to immunocompromised children and they do not get full immunity until their second shot at 4-6 years old. So, the child could be legitimately unvaccinated. (So, the rest of us need to be.)
I feel for all the parents whose children are there for treatment. Having a sick child is bad enough. Having them potentially exposed to measles where they are getting treatment is horrific.

It is stupid. We have sexual desires and shit is going to happen Once the child is here, they should not be punished for their parents bad choices or luck. They should be supported whatever that looks like.
We should also live in a society where most people are afforded the opportunity to be able to afford children. It is worse in the US, but even in Canada, the average person cannot afford this.
Again, I am Canadian. As I have a spouse and both of us are employed in good paying jobs, I do not receive any credit for my children. The only benefit I get for them is additional health benefits provided from my employer. (Which is not legally required but is part of my compensation package.)
Also, once the child is here, regardless of the income or responsibility of the parents, we, as a society, have a responsibility to the child to ensure that they are taken care of.
As they should. If we do not start having more children, the ability of our society and economy to survive is at risk. I am in Canada, we know and welcome the fact that immigration can help to fill those holes. But having children is part of the solution, as well.
I agree but it leads to concerns of not wanting to pay for schools, SNAP, Medicare for them because ‘it should be the parents’ responsibility.’ Something I hear from non-parents who don’t realize we need to support future generations so our society survives.
If you don’t like any part of your constituency, including children, I would think that you should not be running for office.

I truly think they never compiled the data into a list. So, they figure they are, technically, not lying. But the data still exists. Congress should be asking for it (even though the Dems don’t have enough votes to get it).
And since every state is a little bit different, they should be putting out public announcements for each state saying what will change and how.

You know your kids but the things I usually forget are condiments. If they are mustard or ketchup fans, put that on there, too. (For me, it’s Sriracha and soy sauce.) I was lucky, I started at about 15 collecting any old kitchen stuff from extended family so had cutlery and such.

The moments I feel most connected to my God is when I am feeding friends and family or eating what they have made with love. That is my church. So, yeah, sitting with people and eating their expressions of love is and important part of community.

Aside: is there a good parenting book for getting your kids through this stuff? I have tried to be open-minded and open about everything but some things are very hard to explain at an age-appropriate level without traumatizing them. Healthy fear is good. Trauma is bad.
I went off a little too hard on my MIL who had left my kid alone on the internet on her iPad. I get it, this stuff didn’t exist when she was a parent and she uses the internet for good but it is so easy to get to the bad stuff (He’s only 8. All this will come but he’s not ready yet.)
Meh. I just forward those to the correct recipient(s) and, if their stuff is in the way when I want to use my dryer, I temporarily change the wifi password. This gets them to find me. And then they move their crap. (Usually with an apology since they want wifi back.)
