She also used to get so disappointed when we just went to the vet for vet stuff. She was hilarious.
My dog used to go to be kenneled at her vet, and she was always so delighted by the idea that when I stacked her kenneling stuff by the door she started leaping about and getting anxious to go.
There's also been more random pickle flavored things showing up at the grocery. I guess it's this year's pumpkin spice?
Actually now that I think on it more, I think I've been using my pink Lands End one since probably 2014. It's been under a lot of plane seats and on a lot of pool decks over the years and mainly just looks kind of grungy. Nothing is broken.
In past years I have bought Lands End school backpacks for myself when the previous year was on clearance in January. Unfortunately it is back to school time, not clearance time. My kid and I are still using the ones I bought probably 2019 ish.

It really depends on the store. I live in WA and Target and QFC scans ids for wine/beer/liquor purchases, but other grocery stores do not. Target has been scanning for over a decade, they scanned when I lived in IL as well.

I actually intentionally buy cars with fabric seats because I can't stand sitting on leather or fake leather.
