No, the “strategy” is the same—lie. Lie often. Lie about everything and the press won’t be able to keep up because it’s tying itself into knots about “misstatements” This is a new “tactic” but he’ll move on from blaming AI to blaming the Chinese or whatever next.

I always find this argument strange: - only libs watch / read MSM - yet all of MSM decides to not serve their customers, but frustrate them Is Fox the only smart media company? Knows who its customers are and delivers a product they want? Maybe!
Rob Pollard (@robpollard45.bsky.social) reply parent
“Tweaking the language” shouldn’t be necessary if the MSM were actually trying to appeal to a very anti-Trump audience, yet it continually doesn’t happen, e.g., every ABC/NBC/NYT/etc report calls this “Trump’s crime crackdown.” Yet the MSM keeps failing at properly describing things. Why is that?
Rob Pollard (@robpollard45.bsky.social) reply parent
This is a weirdly reported story: family says she has no criminal history, DHS says she committed theft twice. Which is it? Did NBC ask the family? Did DHS fabricate these incidents? Did NBC independently verify by asking law enforcement? My guess is ICE is lying, but should be easy to find out.

This has already been done: the stock market does basically the same regardless of who is President (I believe the best is Dem president and Republican Congress). The real economy (e.g., jobs, GDP growth, national debt) does way better under Dems; it’s not even close.

One of the "optimists" in the article is a Trump supporter who expects housing affordability to "improve with time" yet is currently making 40% of typical income. He's a boiling frog, economically, and he's thanking Daddy Trump for making a nice temperature. So I'll go with the pessimists.

I don't think so, but I'm not sure. I came in right at the Nazi bar part, so I didn't see the whole thing. If there was beer can crushing, my guess was that it was Isaac Hayes' character -- he plays the heavy (and ex-cellmate of Rockford), while Gossett is the fast-talking pain in the butt.
Rob Pollard (@robpollard45.bsky.social) reply parent
It just occured to me that George Clooney probably could have pulled it off about 10 years ago (might have needed to put on about 10-15 pounds so he could convincingly win & lose a fight each week), but he was never a TV guy again after the 1990s.
Rob Pollard (@robpollard45.bsky.social) reply parent

Far be it from me to give Nazis advice, but I would not attack Hayes & Gossett one at a time, if I outnumbered them 12 to 2. ...and then Gossett just gave a 30 sec speech on how right-wingers (which he pointedly said Nazis were, twice) wouldn't win bc the working class & Marx...just great stuff.

Rob Pollard (@robpollard45.bsky.social) reply parent
Among everything, they ignore how much easier it is to open a bar (and run it) vs a school. For a bar, you might need the owners, a few relatives, a few stalwart employees, and that’s it. For a school, you need dozens of teachers, dozens of support staff, bus drivers, admins, etc. It’s a lot harder!

Krejcikova was amazing. She kept going for winners, and tough ones, when she was down match points. Winning mindset. Townsend didn't quite have it. Too many missed first serves when it counted; kind of shocking for a top double's player where getting a serve in is key. Felt the pressure.

...and my last comment, bc I really don't care that much about this: I think both are fine announcers. I am glad Burke will still call a ton of games on the #2 team. But this move makes sense on multiple levels for ESPN, and I'm particularly glad Legler will get more run. He is great.
Rob Pollard (@robpollard45.bsky.social) reply parent
Right, that's my point. Neither one does that. But it is important that one has over a million TikTok followers and the other doesn't have an account (as far as I can tell). ESPN wants its announcers in modern media spaces promoting the product & themselves, across the board. Jefferson has that.

...and what I mean by rising "star" for Jefferson (who I think is fine - just like Burke) is he is 15 years younger, has 5x instagram followers, and is much more present on all the "talk" shows & podcasts that ESPN produces than Burke. They clearly like him. So he stays.
Rob Pollard (@robpollard45.bsky.social) reply parent
What does that mean? Were millions (even many thousands) tuning in just for her? Breen is the star, if anyone. Ratings are not going to suffer one iota b/c of this. If people want to watch only NBA games involving Doris Burke, they can tune into the #2 team, which she'll now be on.
Rob Pollard (@robpollard45.bsky.social) reply parent
I did not. They both did a poor job of playing off each other. I'm not sure which one is at fault. Probably both of them. I do know Richard Jefferson is seen as the rising star, so he gets to stay. That's how media works, and Burke surely recognizes that.
