If the system doesn’t strike you as insane, you aren’t understanding it. Capitalism is inhuman. We are, via wage labor, it’s fuel. This is basic Marxism. But we are slow, concerned with ourselves, inefficient. AI comes to cut us out. It is the inhuman labor an inhuman capital needs.
Capitalism burns human life for fuel, but we are too slow for it. AI short circuits the system; capital burns itself, slipping towards runaway.
Any reactive position dissolves into fascism. Save yourself from that fate.
Until you understand that, you can’t hope to find a way out of this. Regress isn’t an option; we are chained to a force that is always pulling us forward, always scrambling everything. It has progressed past us, we need to catch up.

The fight is against the replacement of humans by AI, a replacement that has yet to happen and is not at all guaranteed to play out as the creators intend.
Pushing back or critiquing AI seems analogous to physically attacking a hologram. It is profitable and so it is coming, why try to slow its arrival instead of finding ways to turn it against its original purpose?
What is the goal of pushing back? Why throw stones at a hologram of a building?
But all that will collapse are just further intensifications of invalid capture. A gendered world exists only to reinforce invalid capture via gender.

It leaves us with 2 paths forward. The first, and conservative path, is to maintain the old categories, and to maintain their validity as well, but to allow switching between them. It is a “progressive” view only in relation to the slightly more conservative view that you can’t switch between them.
The existence of transness exposes the reality of identity; that it is imposed upon you. In addition to exposing this, it challenges its validity.
