The issue of trafficking people who are undocumented is a big problem. But the solution isn't to shrug our shoulders and toss the victims back to the wolves through deportation to other countries and their prisons. The solution is immigration reform and a path to citizenship.

5/5 This science does NOT support telling women to ditch birth control. If anything, it shows that hormonal contraceptives can support mental resilience and healthy coping! Musk saw "emotional impact" and automatically went to the root word for "hysteria".

4/5 Birth control isn’t simply about reproduction, it can give some women a psychological boost, making it easier to remember the good moments and tune out the bad.

Robert Reich (@rbreich.bsky.social) reposted
Wages of unionized workers are 13% higher than their nonunion counterparts. But unions also set a higher pay standard that all workers enjoy. In high-union-density states, median household income is $12,000 higher than in low-union-density states. This is why unions are vital.

1/3 He's physically able to walk, though he looks slumped over more than usual and all the photos of him show his mouth hanging open. My best guess is transient ischemic attack...a mini-stroke. He's been under observation and recovery for the last few days and with a lot of clot-buster drugs.

I think the reports on which demographic voted for which candidate comes from exit polling and applying statistical sampling to make a more generalized claim. It's not 100%, by any means, and it could really miss big pockets of anomalies, but it's generally reliable for making some bird's eye claims

VagabondVisions (@vagabondvisions.bsky.social) reply parent
Painting racism as imaginary or “made up” gaslights lived experience and facts, mountains of evidence show ongoing disparities in policing, housing, and schools. Facing these realities is not “victimhood,” but refusing to accept injustice.
VagabondVisions (@vagabondvisions.bsky.social) reply parent
Asserting black voters are duped or enslaved by Democrats insults their intelligence and agency. Black voters support candidates based on policies about justice, healthcare, and the economy, not because of political “masters.” Candace Owens doesn't think much of black people.
VagabondVisions (@vagabondvisions.bsky.social) reply parent
Portraying black conservatives as “punished” ignores that public figures of all ideologies face criticism. Thomas Sowell, Ben Carson, Clarence Thomas...all have prominent platforms. Dissent is a sign of a vibrant democracy, not oppression. No one is entitled to criticism-free speech.
VagabondVisions (@vagabondvisions.bsky.social) reply parent
Claiming Democrats “break up black families” with welfare policies is a lie. Study after study shows factors like job loss, redlining, and incarceration, often driven by BIPARTISAN policy, are more responsible for family instability.
VagabondVisions (@vagabondvisions.bsky.social) reply parent
School-provided meals are lifelines for poor families, aiming to fight hunger so kids can succeed, not to “remove traditional responsibilities.” Blaming parents ignores systemic poverty and unemployment, which stem from broader economic inequality.
VagabondVisions (@vagabondvisions.bsky.social) reply parent
Equating social programs and schools in black neighborhoods with “virtual plantations” misrepresents both context and intent. Social safety nets were created to address poverty. This is propaganda from the white conservative opposition to social safety nets stemming largely from anti-Communists.
VagabondVisions (@vagabondvisions.bsky.social) reply parent
Claiming one party is solely to blame for slavery ignores history. Southern Democrats defended slavery pre-Civil War, but political parties changed. By the 1960s, Democrats led civil rights reforms, with many segregationists joining the GOP. The Southern Strategy was real. It's documented fact.

HIV was passed into humans via eating poached ape meat in the early 20th century. Anal sex is an oddly specific thing for you to bring up since any sex can transmit it, which it was likely transmitted in the 1960s somewhere in Africa to someone who brought it to the US and Europe.

HIV is caused by a virus. That virus can be transmitted sexually or through many other bodily fluids, including blood. LGBTQ+ people exist and so does their place in history. Trying to strip that is precisely what Nazis did. In fact, Nazis shared your hatred of trans gender people specifically.
