A president cannot step away for a couple months by “concede power” to the VP and then come back and take it back. That’s not how the American presidency works. If he’s not capable of doing the job for more than one day, then he needs to resign and the VP is made president.
Presidents can’t “Step away” for a few months. They can’t even have an operation without handing the nuclear football to the VP. The president can never have a moment of unconsciousness.

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. I think that anything Trump is impeached for the VP can be too.
