Why do you need parking? There is the CTA Blue line right there as well as several major public transit stops and protected bike lanes. Which is much more than other neighborhoods of the city.
While you’re discussing new development at the church, take a moment to appreciate the nearly 120 year old building you will be meeting in. The basement needs some love but the stained glass in the sanctuary as well as the original organ is incredible.
In addition there are large celebrations throughout the city so I wouldn’t be surprised to see ICE raids happening there. Our Mayors office and the aldermen who are in predominantly Latin wards need to be prepared.

It’s chaotic, a bit of a headache with traffic etc. but no crime or riots and nothing out of the norm for Chicago during this celebration. BUT the parade will make for some great MAGA news because you will see cars full of people driving down the city streets - including downtown…

I too spent my day in #Chicago’s hellhole at the farmers market, walking my dog in one of the forest preserves, grilling with friends some of the items purchased at the farmers market then chilled around the fire pit (with a beer or 2) It was a dreadful day.

Speaking as one of his constituents, I’d like to see him focus on the current public transportation issues we are facing that are putting more cars on the roads. I’d like to see more protected bike lanes, better recycling and compost programs happen before we focus on new buildings.
Instead he decides to add new legislation for NEW buildings adding more red tape instead of advocating for restoring, preserving, and enforcing the current protections.
