I'm aware that the President likes to go on television and beg me to call him to ask for troops. I find it strange, as Chicago doesn't want troops. I also have experience asking him for assistance – just to have the rug pulled up from underneath me when execution meets reality.
Plus certain foods just don't grow in the continental US in significant quantity or quality. Olive oil is mostly made in the Mediterranean. Coffee and cocoa mostly grow in South America and Africa. Tea mostly grows in Asia. Wine is mostly made in Europe. We're not replacing these domestically.
It's pretty fascinating to watch people say Ukraine "shouldn't have taken on Russia" while Russian soldiers invade Ukraine's sovereign borders, then say "Israel has a right to defend itself" as Israel destroys an entire society when their military strike capabilities have been null for months.

The Trump administration is proving every day that you need literally zero qualifications to be the President, Vice President, or any cabinet secretary. The only qualification seems to be a willingness to insist that you're always right and that any factual evidence that you're full of shit is woke.
Vance will be even worse in some ways. The only saving grace might be that he doesn't have the cult-like support Trump has, and Vance (or Rubio) will never be charismatic enough to inspire that kind of devotion. A certain amount will just follow, but not as unquestioningly as they followed Trump.

Would they not generate more profit by hiring 6,666 new median employees than even the most brilliant CEO on Earth? I don't care how smart he might be there's no fucking way he's generating the company more profit than 6,666 median employees.
I understand paying the CEO very generously to attract top talent for the top position. But there must be diminishing returns. Paying someone 50x the median employee is generous, 100x you're probably attracting some VERY talented people, 500x, 1000x, 2000x you're just throwing away money.
For example, I'm pretty good at my job. But if I charged 6,666x more than my median competitor, every single one of my clients would find someone who's just as good as me or at least close enough who would charge half that. Why do corporate boards look for cost savings everywhere except the CEO?
There's just no way he's adding THAT much value to the organization. What could one person possibly do to be worth that much money? You're telling me there's no Senior VP who'd be just as effective and be thrilled with half that salary? Why does the race to the bottom never reach C-suite wages?
