Tomorrow's my first gym day, got my workout plan ready. Just gonna start low and slow, get used to things, then ramp up. I used to work out in my parent's garage, so I still remember some of the moves, but doing some deep research now. I want to really put the work in and improve. Excited!!
Oh shit, first I join the gym, and two hours later I get... well... I don't wanna make anyone jealous... it's something nice from my phone! I am being rewarded by the universe today. Now I wanna go for the triple and see orange man croak it. That would seal the deal.

I already play pickleball, but not at home, but I could play it at my parent's house, dad made the driveway into a pickleball court.
There I did it I've signed up for the gym. Not to impress anyone, just think it's like the LAST thing about myself I ever wanted to work on, but I accomplished everything else already, so here we are at the end of the list! My BMI is already spot-on, just need some muscle. So close to perfection...

One thing I found out is not understimate how much contrast you can get away with. All my palettes at this point start almost all the way from white-bright to black-dark, and the results are way better with that contrast even if it doesn't feel like such distant colors would go together.
Draw the art, shade it, outline, alias INTO that outline, adjust and polish. LOOK at the minipreview and do the perception puzzle. Go by how it looks, not by where you think the pixels should physically be, you arevtrying to trick the eye.
Something clicked earlier and my pixel art is way better now. You really do need to take the time to set up a nice, limited palette, around 5-7 shades per color with pleasant saturation shift and value-level compensation, and manually place aliasing pixels carefully while staring at the minipreview.
If you don't write the same code over and over then you're not getting any practice, are you?

A lot of times I'll get a set of character references where it is clear that no one who drew them looked at actual animal references, so I'm having to fix an entire character from scratch basically. It's fun actually.

The apparent appeal of the game I'm working on has definitely increased judging by reaction to the graphical overhaul update so far. We have gone from "hey, neat" to "neurons activated". Good, the effort put into making it look nice is not wasted. (Speaking of, I need a damn haircut)
Large update, very, very large. I've been enjoying the game IMMENSELY due to its high challenge compared to other ARPGs. However it did need some more content and endgame was little lacking compared to what we're used to with PoE1. But I do not think the game is somehow fundamentally broken.
I miss... high school marching band. Practice fucking sucked but playing at the games was really fun. And the homecoming parade proved to me that I can survive war. Wonder if there's some similar adult thing without instruments. I've been craving an athletic "thing" to do besides pickleball.
