Now more than ever. The Conventions and treaties were drawn up at a time when everyone remembered the consequences of not having them. Today most of those people are dead, and we're left with people who don't have first hand knowledge of those events.
When journalists get an answer like that, why don't they just say, "That's great, but you haven't actually answered the question."?

If he can remove due process from people you don't like, he can remove it from you. Those "legal restrictions" prevent the authorities from simply locking up anyone who disagrees with them. They apply to everyone or no-one.

I'm quite short 5' 7" I never bump my head on doors, don't have to duck under low hanging light fittings, I can always get clothes to fit (you can always cut bits off, it's harder to add bits on). If I need to, I can stand on a stool to reach high shelves, and short levers mean less back pain. 🤷
