In short, no one at the #USPTO is going to call the listed owner, if a corresponding attorney is provided. And honestly, the only time ANYONE from the USPTO calls, it is an Examining Attorney who identifies him/herself immediately and is calling to ask if they can amend something.

When I pointed out that the #USPTO doesn't mail anything anymore - that it is only electronic - he paused for 10 seconds and then read me the script again about mailing me a hard copy registration certificate. When I pointed out to him that an Examining Attorney hadn't even been assigned yet...
He basically told me that once I "verified" everything with him, I could start using the TM symbol. I told him I can do that without ever filing a trademark application. He also said that he would "pass me on to someone else" who would "mail the registration certificate to my mailing address".
The number calling me is 571-249-4068. I filed 10 #trademark applications last week and so far, they have called me 10 times. If I send them to voice mail, they just keep calling back.
For now, I would recommend listing your #attorney phone number as the owner's phone number in a #trademark application.
Y'all - these #trademark scams are fierce. They are calling phone numbers listed for new trademark application owners and telling them they can get their trademark approved now. Please tell your clients to never give them any information and to tell them to contact the LISTED attorney of record.
