Are pregnant women not people? I've always found the pushback about this term odd. Women who are pregnant are honestly not always treated like people. Sure, the term is inclusive, accurate, etc. It also serves as a reminder that we are not just vessels, but they don't want that kind of reminder.
Ironically, his supporters for the most part, will feel the effects of his policies to a deeper degree than many dem voters. It really is a kind of FAFO situation, but we all have to find out.
I mean MAGA is a cult so there is no real reasoning with them. Anyone else who voted for 47 or didn't vote at all made a choice. It's just like the Gaza protesters who didn't vote because they didn't like the Dems handling of it. So, they enabled a far worse reality?? I blame the voters.
When the choices are something mild you're not quite sure of and steaming hot garbage, it should have been a very clear choice. The party could have done better in a lot of ways, but this is the fault of voters.

The people who can work already are. The new work requirements don't ensure that more people work, it just creates more hurdles for those who already do. It doesn't fix anything, it just makes an existing program more difficult to use.
They want to stop the government from being functional so private industry has to take over "because the government runs things so poorly." The point is these functions won't actually function as private business that's why they are government run to begin with.
Government funded services, research, etc are not companies, that's the whole point. Education, research, the postal service, and such are not funded by the government because they could not or should not turn a profit. They are so close to the point, and still completely miss it.
Um, that vote took place in 2006, that was almost 20 years ago. Almost half the population wasn't even alive then. It is completely disingenuous to say current residents voted in significant numbers for Hamas. Also, comparing Gaza to Ukraine and Syria is a false equivalence.
We need a huge cross-section of society, engaging in diverse tactics- not just protest, but strikes, slowdowns, leaks, refusals, gumming up the works, ridiculous art, coordinated disruption, a whole range of things to make it impossible for those who intend evil and do harm to execute their plans.

You know I was so much healthier during COVID and a lot of it was because sick coworkers had to stay home. Staying home when you're ill helps keep society healthier. It's terrible we have a culture where people go to work sick. We definitely shouldn't be starting that mindset with children.

The government shouldn't be making any decisions about a person's private medical care. All people should have bodily autonomy - trans people, women, the disabled, etc. Also, Dr. Oz is a cardiologist, so this is nowhere near his scope of practice.
As an elected official, he doesn't need to know the science. He doesn't need to understand the nuance. There are already people who understand that. They are called doctors and they are the only people who should be making decisions with their patients. The government has no role.
I think this administration is trying to mitigate climate change by pretending it doesn't exist. If we don't research it and we don't prepare for it, it won't be real. Just like he did with COVID testing/numbers.

I worked in medical admin for a decade. It's not even the name of the program. Most Medicaid plans still involve commercial insurance brands. So, you may be enrolled in the Oregon Health Plan, but your plan might be through Providence. The card doesn't say Medicaid or OHP.
