Hey look buddy, I'm an engineer. That means I solve problems, not problems like "What is beauty?" Because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems. Old, Nerdy.

I think we should absolutely do this. If the feds are dropping the ball, the states should pick it up. Now just how to figure out reducing paying federal taxes because federal services are no longer viable.
Mr. Surly (@nuancesystems.com) reply parent
Also, looks like BSD has a fdlopen that can take a file descriptor.
Mr. Surly (@nuancesystems.com) reply parent
Hmm 1) Weird that it supports zipfiles but doesn't handle the .so files 2) Perhaps a workaround could be to use fuse-zip? But I'm assuming that if you have dlopen that it's something linux-y that can also do fuse.

Arguably if you're convicted, you're sentenced. And if that happens to interfere with your career, so be it. That's how it plays out for EVERYONE ELSE convicted of a crime. I guess I can just rob a bank, but announce I'm running for President. They have to just skip the sentencing, right?
Mr. Surly (@nuancesystems.com) reply parent
The fact that a judge said "I know this guy was convicted, but he's running for office, so we're going to just not do any sentencing" is really, REALLY fucking wild.

This has "I'm an idea guy, not a do-er" energy. My point being Vance et. al. go out in public, thus presenting the opportunity for "face-to-face" feedback. It's not like SC justices are out strolling around; they're far more insulated, indeed by their own choice.
